My Holiday Suitcase!

Only 3 sleeps to go & I'm off to Lara Beach in Turkey with my other half and my step children Jacob (15) and Olivia (13)

My original plan when booking the holiday was to lose a few stone & drop a couple of dress sizes; however my love of food and wine have been greater than my desire to be a size zero! And no-where seems to sell swimwear that makes you look 3 sizes smaller! 

Here is (some of) what I've packed for our 7 night family holiday

Firstly I LOVE shoes! probably because they always fit but I've always had an obsession with shoes and when I was growing up until I was in my late 20s wanted a shoe shop; simply called Ruth's Shoes! Here are a few of the pairs I'm packing!

Another favourite for my holiday is maxi dresses including this galazy print favourite from Simply Be 

I am a huge fan of leopard print and this maxi from Dorothy Perkins has served me well all season, from hen parties to family BBQs

I've really struggled this year to find swimwear that I will feel comfortable and secure in! But I am loving this 50's floral print one from ASOS and as well as feeling secure in it I also don't feel as self concsious as I would in the usual tie-side bikini bottoms that seem to be in every shop I've visited recently

My Room31 bargain sunglasses have been sat on, thrown in my handbag and in the footwell of my car & are still scratch free so they will be coming with me too! 

Every year I get a new 'family bag' - you know the one where the mother carries EVERYTHING for the whole duration of the trip! I am a bit of a control freak though so am happy to be in charge of everyone's passports/tickets etc.

My experience at R31HQ

I am 3 weeks into my internship and a loveeeeee it! 

I have been working 3 days a week with a great group of people, learning a lot and really enjoying myself. 

I have been doing a range of things from stock listing clothes to blogging and promotions.

First of all I am going to show you my very much fantastic desk.

This beauty is where i have been doing all my blogging, stock listing and most recently been helping to organise a photo-shoot! (exciting)

Here is a image of my fabulous colleagues and the room where I work.

For me enjoying the space I am working in is very important and here I am very happy with my desk and the constant general lively atmosphere of the office.  

I have been doing quite a bit of stock listing and organising clothes, as seen below.

This is where we have are indoor photo-shoots and the models room, which I have yet to use; while the weather is nice we are planning our next shoot outdoors!

This is the area where all your goodies get packed away and flown across the world to the comfort of your home, or in some cases across the road, but you get the idea.

I have learnt a lot here so far and only have a hell of a lot more to learn!

My favourite part so far have been blogging and helping to organise the shoots which I can't wait for!

The bits which have not been so fun are stock listing, but i know that these little tasks are usually the important ones. 

I was worried just before starting that I would be given the jobs of brewing up or not really being able to learn much, but I have been proven very wrong and can't believe how much I have got stuck in and learnt, especially only being on week 3!

All these opinions are my own and I am very excited about my future here at Room31.

WEEKEND WISHLIST!

With the weekend rapidly approaching and with the sun on its way, we can't help but dream about the floaty summery clothes we can finally start to wear! (we hope)

As all are money can't go on a new outfit every weekend, we will just have to dream.

Top on my wish list this week is two pieces, I am all over this trend but before we dive in to the deep end, here is some inspiration from some of are favourite celebs!

This is a fantastic little number I found from asos marketplace place, it can easily be worn in the day time with  pair of sandals and sunnies, or for the evening with open toe mid heels and a hair piece (perfect for the races or summer weddings)

This bikini is from a online shop called Phussy, she is a friend of mine and also a amazing designer.

If your a fan of the 60s/70s patterns like myself then this is a winner! 

On the shoe front I am obsessed with these little numbers at the moment and can't wait to crack open the piggy bank and get my hands on a pair!

They come in many different styles and colours, they are everywhere at the moment!

ALL THINGS USA: Happy 4th Of July

Independence day commonly known as forth of July will be celebrated throughout America today with  parades, carnivals, barbecues and family reunions. Here at Room31 we will be celebrating in true style by sharing some of are favourite American stars, films and of course trends!

Multi-award winning film 'American Beauty' is an all time classic. Using this worldwide famous photograph from the film, has given us some crazy floral inspiration with an American feel.

For a family barbecue we think keeping it fresh and neat is the key.

So the weather has gone a bit grim, I'm no longer craving salad, wanting a Mr Whippy or wanting to go for long summer walks.
